I have been working on research for a few website projects the EXIT team has been working on and came across this great website tool – Website Grader by HubSpot. The tool scores your website based on three critical areas of online marketing:
1) Top of the Funnel – how you are bringing people into your website and is your content engaging and keeping there
2) Middle of the Funnel – how is your website conversion score, are your traffic leads becoming customers
3) Analytics – do you know what marketing tactics are working and what are not
When I analyzed our company site I was pleasantly surprised by some of the results – having a blog is key (Yay! We do this!) and we have a good analytics system in place. But there is of course areas we can improve on – using Twitter more, changing our internal page header tags to be more descriptive and creating better ways to share the content on our website are just a few. Even though there are things that we need to change on our own site, I feel armed with the information needed to make adjustments that will have an immediate impact. That’s exciting!
