Sometimes the most simple design or idea is the best, so goes the saying “less is more.” Some great examples of this are the illustrations by Noma Bar. He tries to use as few as 1 or 2 elements to create his illustrations that are often either social commentaries or of famous people. He explains his process and background in an interview on grain edit. His big thing is using negative space to his advantage, which is something every designer should aspire to do. Even though his work is so simple and he makes it look so effortless, there is much thought and process behind each piece. They remind me of trying to develop a great logo design. I pulled some of my favorite illustrations, so take a look.
He’s also got a couple books for sell, Guess Who and Negative Space.
