My name is Laura Bonds and I am interning at EXIT Marketing this summer, after just completing my first year at Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee. I am planning on majoring in English, as I have always had a passion for writing and literature. In addition, I aim to minor in history because learning about the world through past events and traveling intrigues me.
Through Rhodes I am involved in several activities, including volunteering with Special Olympics, tutoring children at a local school, being a member of Chi Omega Sorority, as well as writing for The Bridge, a student-run, non-profit newspaper that helps the homeless population in Memphis get back on its feet. Being a part of the EXIT team is giving me the opportunity to combine my multiple interests and make a difference in my community.
Although this is only my third day at EXIT, I am already learning so much about the marketing process and am getting to participate in a variety of projects. As a possible career field after graduation, the opportunity to work at EXIT allows me to become involved in every aspect of a marketing firm. From researching background information for a project and concepting ideas for a client, to proofing documents and learning to use new software products, I am diving headfirst into every task assigned to me, and loving every minute of it! I can’t wait to gain more knowledge and discover what the rest of the summer has in store for me at EXIT.
