Here’s a tip for small businesses out there. Instead of trying to be better than your competition, figure out how you can be different from your competition. In a post by John Jantsh on Duct Tape Marketing he talks about the fact that it’s hard to show your customers the subtle features of why your product is better when all they care about is the price. However, if you do something different and innovative than it will catch your customer’s eye and stand out from your competitors.
Here are two questions that Jantsh suggests a small business should think about.
1) What are we doing that our competitors are not?
2) What are we doing just like our competitors that we could change for good?
