Stacey, EXIT’s Social Media and Account Manager, sat down with Katie Geurin, EXIT’s newest social media guru, to get to know more about her and why she loves social media!
Q: How did you get started in social media?
A: I was that odd girl in elementary school who ran around the playground with a notebook and pencil, writing stories while I played with my friends, so I always knew I wanted to do something creative. I actually started out in the sports journalism world, and as I delved further into that, I got into radio and television which morphed into advertising which turned into social media.
Q: Where are you from?
A: I was born and raised in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Q: What’s your favorite food?
A: If it were physically possible, my entire diet would consist of cheeseburgers and coffee.
Q: What about social media excites you most?
A: On a personal level, it’s exciting to me that location is no longer a communication barrier. On a professional level, I love that I can help people with their businesses on a virtually unlimited scale.
Q: Why did you choose to work at EXIT?
A: Quite simply, the team. I was excited about the idea to work alongside and learn from smart, nice and creative people.
Q: Describe yourself in 3 words.
A: Joyful, creative, kind.
Q: What social media channel do you like to use most personally?
A: I most like Instagram, but I try to interact on Facebook occasionally because I know my grandma likes to see pictures of what’s going on in my life.
Q: If you were stranded on an island with only 1 movie to watch for eternity, what would it be? Same question with 1 book.
A: I could watch “The Blind Side” on repeat, but I also have nearly every word of “Legally Blonde” memorized. As far as a book, outside of the Bible, I’d pick “The Idiot Girls’ Action-Adventure Club” by Laurie Notaro. It’s one that makes you laugh out loud while reading.
Q: What do you like to do outside of work?
A: I like to spend my time with my husband, friends and family. I like to shop, travel, watch Food Network and randomly enough, visit the zoo.
