While checking in on one of my favorite go to blogs I ran across this wonderful instillation by Farah Tamachi. For her senior seminar she decided to create a six-foot tall wall instillation of corrugated cardboard script font that says “Discovery ignites the passion to create”. I love the elegance of this typeface and the curves that it creates with the three dimensional cardboard and the shadows produced from it. I am in love with this quote and feel that I can relate to it as a designer, the more I discover in the world and in the world of design the more and more it drives me to try new things and projects and take fresh approaches to design. I want to keep this quote close by as a reminder. Farah states that “This project aims to question the death of analog design, when humans have the inherent need to be tactile and explore things in a multiple-sensory rich manner. This 6-foot-tall typographic installation explores type design, 3D design and installation design as a tactile experience.” She also created a magazine that included her thesis and photographs of her project.
